RefWorks logo

RefWorks is an online research/citation management tool that allows you to collect, store, and manage information.

With RefWorks, you can:

  • create your own database of references;
  • export references from article databases and from the Web;
  • generate in-text citations and bibliographies

Getting Started with RefWorks

Accessing RefWorks: Click here to access RefWorks.

  • From the Library's Homepage, click on RefWorks under "Use It" in the bottom left quadrant of the page. (If you are not taken directly to the login screen, click on Login at the left end of the toolbar menu).

Off-campus Access:

  • Access the Library's Web site through My NLU Portal, then follow the directions above or
  • Email library@nl.edu for the Group Access Code to login through the Remote Access screen (this will then take you to the RefWorks login page).

Creating an Account: New users must first create an individual account in order to use RefWorks:

  1. After accessing RefWorks, you will come to the "RefWorks User Login for National-Louis University" page.
